The Hunger Action Network of New York State, founded in 1982, is a not-for-profit organization comprised of emergency food programs, concerned citizen advocates, low-income individuals, community agencies and religious organizations whose goal is to end hunger and its root causes, including poverty, in New York State. We have offices in New York City and Albany.
Hunger Action Network works to increase the amount of food today available to low-income New Yorkers through increased funding for Emergency Food Programs, promotion of federal nutrition programs, promoting participation in CSA's and by growing food. Hunger Action Network also works for long term solutions such as living wage jobs, access to education and training, and affordable healthcare.
